AMERICA’S OLDEST FAMILY OF WINEMAKERS
From the preeminent producers of Cab Franc in the US comes this Red Blend.
The crash of waves on the shore, the way the sun throws lengthening shadows at the end of the day, the red skin, the slice of pizza to quell hunger, the family tie to Capitola is as prismatic as are the flavors and textures of That Time at the Beach, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cab Franc, Syrah, and Mourvèdre from our favorite sites in the Livermore Valley, Santa Cruz Mountains, and Lodi.
Every great experience is made up of an uncountable number of small nuances, that taken together, produce a memory that defines a place and a time. The beach at Capitola has always been sacred to the Mirassou family. It is an amazing location that takes on even more meaning when three generations get together there to commune and slough off the daily cares…if only for a moment.
That Time at the Beach is a blend that serves the same purpose as the pristine beach…it is an amalgam of textures and flavors that lift an ordinary experience into a moment that will create a life-long wine memory.
Fruit Sources 50% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Lencioni Vienyard, 25% Cab Franc from the Ghielmetti Vineyard, 12.5% Syrah from Zayante Vineyard, planted in 1989 outside the town of Felton in the Santa Cruz Mountains and 12.5% Mourvèdre – from Lodi.
Tasting Notes That Time at the Beach is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cab Franc, Mourvèdre and Syrah, each element brings its own sense of structure, flavor, and aroma to create a wine with lovely heft and complex flavors. On entry, the dark and black fruit notes are beautifully balanced with the acid-driven structure. In the mouth, especially from mid-palate to finish, TTATB shows a core of fruit, subtle oaky notes, and a wonderfully drawn-out finish that will serve the wine’s mid-term aging capacity beautifully.
