Steven Kent Cabernet Sauvignon, Livermore Valley

MV CABERNET SAUVIGNON – LIVERMORE Valley.This blend of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon combines wine from two different vintages and three vineyards: Ghielmetti (25%), Lencioni (50%, and Home Ranch (25%). These three sites have long been used both in blends and as single vineyard expressions. Each provides different structural and organoleptic qualities to the final blend. Lencioni Vineyard contributes dark fruit and exotic spice notes; Gheilmetti adds red to dark fruit and elegant depth of fruit, while Home Ranch is known for its subtle herbal aromas, dark fruit, and the most assertive tannin of the three. Together, they make for a wine with panache, complexity, and age-worthiness.

OUR LIVERMORE VALLEY CABERNET BLEND is meant to convey the world-class quality that its growing region is known for. The wine is typically aged in only 25% to 40% new barrel so that its myriad fruit notes show through without the interference of overly sweet wood and unbalanced tannin. This style of wine suits food beautifully. It can be paired with fish such as salmon and red meats like lamb and beef. This style of wine can age beautifully for 5-7 years but is meant to be drunk now.  

The MIRASSOU FAMILYis the oldest family of winemakers in the US. Seven generations have been fortunate enough to have worked in the vineyards and cellars of California to produce wines that, even if in only a small way, change people’s lives.
